At the exhibition „Ką pasėsi… 2014,“ taking place from April 3rd to 5th, a high-power Fendt tractor will be presented for the first time in the Baltic States. This tractor integrates the most new technical solutions, many of which are being used in the industry for the first time. Visit the UAB „Ivabaltė“ exhibition and assess the benefits of new technologies!
A parade debut - new high-power FENDT tractors
As befits flagships, they are fitted with new generation „Deutz AG“ engines, complying with the strictest Stage IV/Tier 4f emission requirements. Under these, the tractor power units come very close to the requirements set for commercial vehicles.
„Fendt“ 800 or 900 Vario The first fixed-power engines were installed. This means that a constant maximum power is available across the entire working speed range, from 1650 to 2100 rpm.-1 („Fendt 800 Vario“). This is not an instantaneous power boost where higher power is available over a certain period of time and only for certain power take-offs – the engine achieves and transmits the same maximum power across its entire working speed range to all energy consumers: the transmission, hydraulic system, and PTO.

How has this been achieved? Traditionally, in Deutz AG engines, the battery common rail Two high-pressure pumps are used in the feeding systems. This solution reduces the load on individual pumps, thus increasing their output. The new generation of Fendt„ 800 Vario or 900 Vario In tractor engines, there are three high-pressure pumps instead of two, which, in addition to the aforementioned advantages, ensure up to 50% more power for the supply system.
The new engines are equipped with a two-stage turbocharging system with sequentially connected fixed geometry turbochargers (FGT) of different capacities. To achieve even better engine performance characteristics, separate intercoolers are installed in the intake system behind both turbochargers. The advanced engine turbocharging system beneficially, up to 450 min-1 increases the constant power range, making the tractor even more efficient in draft work.
Increased constant engine power also means higher long-term engine loads, hence the redesigned crankshaft. For example, the pistons are now made from a special alloy steel, making them lighter and more resistant to high temperatures and high dynamic loads.
The engines are equipped with a reversible fan drive, which allows dust accumulated on the cooler surface to be blown off. Fan control is integrated into the overall machine control program. Variotronic, which allows reversal cycles to be set and automatically activated.

Stage IV/Tier 4f Requirements for the implementation of harmful emissions using both internal and external means: exhaust gas recirculation system Rex (a significantly smaller portion of exhaust gases is returned to the intake system than was done in previous engines), selective catalytic reduction catalyst SCR, using a urea-water solution AdBlue and passive regenerative soot filter CSF. Unlike the active filter, the latter does not require additional diesel injection to operate. For maximum economy (considering both: diesel and AdBlue (consumption) this combination of selected measures is the most effective of those used in industry.
However, the basic „Fendt“ 800 or 900 Vario the structural solutions have remained the same, but technical modifications can be found in practically all assemblies. For example, stepless transmission Variable The structure has been retained, but it has been strengthened in both models. The maximum operating pressure in the gearbox hydraulic system is now 550 bar, and a larger oil cooler ensures better heat dissipation. In Fendt 900 Vario models above 330 HP, the planetary powersplit gearbox has been re-engineered with 4 satellites instead of 3, ensuring smoother power transmission of higher outputs and greater reliability.
All 900 Vario In the gearbox of the models, highly load-resistant roller bearings (analogous to Formula 1 cars) are used in the pump transmission, and the front axle clutch has been strengthened. In the steering system, a more efficient variable displacement pump is now used instead of a separate fixed displacement pump.

High-power tractors' front electro-hydraulic lift systems can now also come with the innovative PRC (Pressure Relief Control) system, which is already available 500 or 700 Vario This is a contact pressure control system integrated into the front loader's hydraulic system. The contact pressure of the implement (e.g. mower) on the soil surface always remains stable, regardless of changes in terrain. Therefore, the implement copies the surface better when working in hilly fields.
„Fendt“ 800 or 900 Vario, the first time in tractors, an internal tyre pressure control system was used VarioGrip. This ensures up to 15% greater tractive effort (up to 40 HP more tractive power), less slippage, and accordingly up to 10% lower fuel consumption. The integrated design, along with a higher-performance air compressor, allows for quick pressure changes – increasing or decreasing tyre pressure. For example, increasing the pressure by 0.8 bar from 1.2 to 2.0 bar in all four tyres takes no longer than 10 minutes.
Tai anaiptol ne vieninteliai pakeitimai naujuose „Fendt“ 800 or 900 Vario in tractors. Tractors can be equipped with the most advanced lighting devices: dual-intensity LEDs Bi-LED headlights with automatic levelling control and LED work lights instead of conventional halogen ones. Additionally, the tractors are equipped with an lighting system timer – after switching off the engine, the lights remain on for a while to guide the driver home.
New, laminated, and safe LSG class panoramic front cab glass, similar to those fitted in passenger cars. The front windscreen wiper travel is now 300°, providing the operator with excellent visibility of the area between the tractor's body and the front wheels.
The key innovation in the cabin is a new 10.4″ diagonal control terminal with new touchscreen technology. The surface of the liquid crystal LCD screen, with LEDs behind it, is made from an abrasion-resistant coating, so the unit now externally resembles a tablet computer or smartphone. The software has been updated and enhanced with new features such as: an integrated parallel track guidance desktop with an information bar at the top, a section control function (up to 24), which is easy to use with implements, per ISO-Bus 11783 connected by a common data transmission network. This further simplifies the implementation of precision farming systems (PFS) by aggregating tractors with sprayers, fertiliser spreaders, and seed drills. It is worth noting that the control systems of high-power Fendt tractors evaluate up to 63 different parameters during operation. These are truly smart machines!
„Joskin Tetraliner - exceptionally efficient use
A new slurry tanker from the Belgian company „Joskin“ will be presented at the „What you sow... 2014“ exhibition. Tetraliner 23500 T. The three-axle (2+1) 23,500 litre slurry tanker, the largest of Tetraliner A trailer, adapted for work both in fields and for the transport of slurry on public roads. Additionally, a fully galvanised 2.0 m diameter tank is perfectly suited for water transport.

Tetraliner construction – frame-mounted, with a front-mounted vacuum pump. The slurry tanker, due to its front axle connection with a swiveling drawbar, can be coupled with any medium to high-power tractor. The Tetraliner can be transported at speeds up to 60 km/h. Transport safety is ensured by special tank baffles designed according to EN707 requirements, mechanical leaf spring suspension, and pneumatic brakes. For transport, tyres of size 385/65R22.5 can be used, while for field work, they are designed for a diameter up to 1260 mm and a width up to 600 mm.
The Tetraliner can be filled not only using the vacuum pump fitted to it, but also by an external source. The slurry tanker can be augmented with any liquid suction and discharge components, and various controllers from the Joskin range, for example, 8″ or 10″ discharge elbows, controllable flow switches from the tractor cab, and so on.

„Lely Welger RPC 245 Tornado"
Another big piece of news being presented at the „What You Sow...“ 2014 exhibition is the compact design, fixed chamber baler-wrapper, the „Lely Welger RPC 245 Tornado“. The bale diameter wrapped in film is 1.25 m, with a width of 1.23 m.
The new baler-wrapper is designed on the basis of the fixed-chamber baler „Lely Welger RP 245“, so many solutions are inherited from this well-recommended machine: a 5-row, camless, 2.25m wide drum-finger pick-up, the trademark single-stage Powersplit reducer, directly transmitting power to the pickup and baling chamber, amortised, hydraulically remotely controlled feeder floor HydroFlexControl. Shredder – with 25 blades (Xtracut25).
The bale wrapper is structurally similar to the „Lely Welger RPC 445 Tornado“ used. Therefore, the roller lowering guide construction on the RPC 245 wrapping table is similar, ensuring a fast and smooth roller lowering even when working in hilly fields. The wrapping table is surrounded by a compact rotating ring, with film stretchers fitted on both sides equipped with new design film cutters.
When requesting, Tornado The wrapper can be switched off, i.e. the bales can be pressed without wrapping them in film. There is also the option to press one bale and move the other to the required location by pushing it onto the wrapping table, and then lower both bales at the same time.
