Trailers for bulk goods

• The floors and sides of bodies adapted for transporting various bulk products are made from a single sheet of high-quality S355 steel. The floor thickness used is 3, 4, or 5 mm. Side strengthening ribs (where present) are made from closed-section profiles. The front body wall is welded to the sides, not bent. Due to the trapezoidal cross-section of the cargo area, the bulk cargo being transported adheres less to the edges, therefore reducing the risk of frame deformation during unloading, and the body is easier to clean.
• The simple construction from closed, equally-sided profiles increases the trailer's stability during operation. Furthermore, there is nowhere for dirt to accumulate, making it harder for corrosion centres to form.
• The frame beam at the front is lower (drop of up to 26 cm). Viewed from the side, the profile tapers evenly, not in steps. The body rests on the frame beam via wide rubber supports.
• The trailers are trapezoidal in shape, meaning the rear is 10cm wider than the front, which reduces tipping loads.
• The maximum tipping angle is 51 degrees. Standard specification trailers are manufactured with two-way and three-way tipping capability.
• The two-axle and three-axle „Krampe“ semi-trailer chassis have mechanical leaf spring suspension as standard. The axles with reinforced wheel bearings are manufactured by BPW or ADR. In heavy-duty semi-trailers, starting with the model Big Body 550, 100 mm wide parabolic springs are used.
• Three-axle agricultural semi-trailers can also be equipped with hydropneumatic suspension. Regardless of the suspension type, all semi-trailer axles have dynamic vertical travel stabilisers. Three-axle chassis have hydraulic locks. When driving forwards or backwards, the semi-trailer moves in a straight line. For better off-road manoeuvrability, during transport, or when reversing, an optional forced hydraulic steering system can be ordered, controlling the first and last axles.
• Each steering axle has two steering arms connecting the wheels on opposite sides. Both arms have separate two-way hydraulic cylinders.
• Drum brake assembly – reinforced, industrial type. They are suitable for speeds up to 80 km/h.
• Mechanically or hydraulically (as standard on all Big Body series trailers) the tipper hatch tailgate seals tightly against the body edges when closed. Even the finest grain doesn't spill during transport!
• The plastic and steel mudguards are screwed to the body. They are easy to remove and clean or replace with new ones.
• Lighting and emergency signalling devices are installed in a safe U-shaped profile. A protective crossbar, made of a circular section tube, is attached at the bottom, preventing the build-up of soil and grain here.

• Electronic scales and a central tyre pressure monitoring system can be ordered as extras.
