Agricultural machinery supplier „Ivabaltė“ is expanding its grain processing solutions portfolio and is starting a collaboration with Swedish manufacturer „Tornum“. The new partnership will allow the company to strengthen its offering for larger farms, elevators, and other grain processing facilities that require powerful, intelligent, and individually designed solutions.

„Tornum specialises in grain handling systems for farms and the grain industry. The manufacturer develops solutions for projects of various scales, from individual equipment to complete grain handling infrastructure, covering drying, cleaning, storage, transport, and process control.

„For Ivabaltei, this partnership is important as a strategic step in the grain processing segment. The company has previously worked with the manufacturer Mepu in this field, and representing Tornum allows them to expand their offering into an even larger market share – to offer more flexible solutions that better meet the specific needs of individual farms.

„In the field of grain processing, we are not talking about a single piece of equipment, but about the entire process – how grain is received, dried, cleaned, stored and later moves to sale. The partnership with Tornum allows us to strengthen this direction and offer top-level integrated solutions to Lithuanian farms and industry. Through this partnership, we also maintain the benchmark of highest quality, which we set for ourselves when supplying any product to the market – Tornum is renowned for reliability, quality, and long-lasting solutions, which also aligns with Ivabaltė’s values,„ says the company’s CEO Monika Tarvydytė.

Tornum representative Jerker Söderholm also speaks about a similar approach to partnership when asked why they chose Ivabaltė as their partner in Lithuania. „When we were looking for partners in the Baltic countries – first in Latvia, then Estonia, and now in Lithuania – we had several important criteria: partners must be solid, knowledgeable about the market, and have earned customers“ trust there. Ivabaltė meets all these criteria, and we also share a common approach to long-term partnership,„ says J. Söderholm, Tornum Sales Manager.

From mobile dryers to complex facilities

Up to now, the company has already offered both mobile, more quickly implementable solutions, and the implementation of more complex projects in this segment. At that time, „Tornum“ offers the opportunity to work with clients planning complex and technically more demanding grain processing facilities. „Ivabaltė“, with the help of teams of technicians and engineers from the represented brands, will offer these to Lithuanian farmers on a „turnkey“ basis.

According to Gabija Tarvydytė, Head of Development at „Ivabaltė“, this portfolio expansion allows for a more precise response to the needs of different clients.

„There is no one-size-fits-all solution in the grain processing market. For one farm, mobility and quick implementation are paramount, while for another, long-term infrastructure tailored to a specific territory, capacity, and development plans is crucial. With reliable Scandinavian brands in our portfolio, we can offer solutions for farms of different sizes today, while planning for their growth prospects tomorrow,“ says G. Tarvydytė.

Technical consulting is becoming a key value component

The grain processing solutions offered to clients depend on many specific conditions: available territory, terrain, existing buildings and infrastructure, transport movement, grain flows, and planned development. Therefore, „Ivabaltė“ focuses significantly on individual technical consultation in this area.

The specialist responsible for grain equipment solutions at Ivabaltė, Remigijus Binkulis, works with clients to assess their needs, existing infrastructure, and the technical specifications of the future system. His role is to help farms select not only the equipment but also a logical, most economically beneficial solution for today with the prospect of growth and expansion in the future..

„In such projects, it’s important to understand the entire logic of grain movement on the farm – from the crops grown, their harvesting and on-farm transportation, their prompt processing, storage, and timely dispatch. Even good machinery won't realise its full value if it's not correctly integrated into the overall process. Therefore, our work with the client begins with a real needs analysis, not a catalogue,“ says R. Binkulis.

According to him, this approach allows for more accurate planning of the farmer's investments, reduces implementation risks, and avoids situations where the chosen equipment does not match the farm's actual capacity or growth plans.

Automation and grain quality – increasingly important factors

In large-scale grain processing facilities, not only equipment performance but also process control is becoming increasingly important. Tornum is developing automation solutions that enable monitoring and control of grain movement routes, equipment operation, storage conditions, and drying processes.

Such decisions are relevant for farms that need to manage large grain flows during the season, respond quickly to risks, and reduce the likelihood of manual management errors.

„Farms are increasingly focusing not only on the efficiency of machinery but also on process control. Automation provides a better view of the entire grain journey, allows for quicker responses to changes, and enables more effective work planning during the busiest season,“ notes M. Tarvydytė.

According to him, grain processing infrastructure is becoming not only a technical but also a strategic issue for the competitiveness of the economy.

„Grain quality doesn't end in the field. After harvest comes the next stage – how quickly, safely, and efficiently a farm manages what it has grown. That's why investments in grain processing infrastructure are no longer an optional extra, but a strategic part of the farm,“ says M. Tarvydytė.

This new partnership with Tornum means that for Ivabalte, it's not just about adding to their portfolio, but also a step towards offering customers even broader grain processing solutions, as the focus here isn't just on equipment, but on a clearly defined, economically sound solution tailored for long-term farm development.

End of form

Bottom of form
