This year, towards the end of summer, production of the new „Fendt 800 VarioTMS“ models is promised to begin, covering the 200-280 HP range. The new 800 VarioTMS tractor series was officially presented last November at the „Agritechnica 2009“ exhibition.
Externally, the new tractors resemble the high-power class model 900 VarioTMS. The x5 cab, designed by „Porsche Design Studio“, with its independent pneumatic suspension system and a left-side-only door, is immediately noticeable. The control devices and their functions are similar to the company's flagship, with the exception of the new-generation Vario control terminal. Depending on the equipment, it can have a 7 or 10.4-inch diagonal screen (the latter being the largest on the market). The largest screen allows for simultaneous viewing of a video camera, navigation equipment, and tractor system readings.
The semi-mounted tractors will be fitted with 6-cylinder, 6.06-litre turbodiesel engines from the Deutz TCD2012 4V series, equipped with SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) catalysts using a 32.5% urea-water solution (AdBlue). According to the manufacturer, the SCR catalyst has enabled a record reduction in fuel consumption to 192 g/kW.h. The engines meet the transitional Stage IIIB/Tier 3 emissions requirements.
Engine power system – an extremely high-pressure, 2000 bar common rail accumulator system, the first of its kind in tractor engines. It is a modification by Deutz AG (hence its name DCR), but it is manufactured by Bosch.
New 800 VarioTMS used in the series from the previous generation 900 VarioTMS familiar stepless continuously variable transmission „Fendt Vario ML200“. The tractor is fitted with a newly designed rear axle „Fendt HA220“. The tractor's maximum speed of 60 km/h can be reached at an economical engine speed of 1750 rpm.
The hydraulic system, as is traditional for Fendt tractors, is completely separate from the transmission. Axial piston pumps with variable displacement, load-sensing (CCLS) system are available with three different capacities: 109, 152 or 193 l/min. Up to 6 pairs of hydraulic connections can be fitted to the rear of the tractor, and up to 2 pairs to the front.
New Year 800 VarioTMS The models will not replace the mid-range models currently in production. 818 VarioTMS (rated power according to EC 97/68 standard – 137 kW/186 hp) and 820 VarioTMS (152 kW/207 hp), or they will complement them.
For the first time in the Fendt range, tractors will be offered with three equipment levels: Power, Profi or Profi Plus.
The new Fendt 800 VarioTMS“structurally closer to the high-power series (in the middle)" 900 VarioTMS (on the right). Current medium-power Fendt models 818 or 820 VariableTMS (on the left) will be produced further.
